Don't put your electric cordless kettle away when summer comes. There's no reason to be hasty, there's still iced tea and sweet tea to consider. And hot tea lovers often drink tea year round.

Many countries have iced tea as a form of beverage. It may or may not be served with ice but it is always served cold. It is up to the iced tea drinker whether the tea is sweetened or not. Most unsweetened tea will be a longer steeping tea and will steep at a lower temperature; some refer to this as, 'sun tea'.

Some of the countries that enjoy iced tea are Canada, Hong Kong, and the United States. It's interesting how the iced varieties differ in each country.

In Canada it is rare to see unsweetened tea. Most iced tea is flavoured with lemon and raspberry, peach and pomegranate are gradually gaining popularity. Most iced teas are prepared by companies and are not freshly brewed, though fresh brewing is becoming more popular as time passes.

Hong Kong also has its own iced tea. It has an iced lemon tea. This tea is available at all Hong Kong restaurants. They are also quite fond of Sri Lankan tea that is a very strong brew added to a syrup base and ice. After that is all together they add lemon and the customer then stirs to get the lemon oil in the tea.

Of course the United States is the biggest drinker of iced tea. With about 85% of all tea that the US drinks being iced, we know our iced tea. Especially in the South you won't find many homes without it. Many places in the South you will find that iced tea is referred to as sweet tea. This tea is brewed stronger and has more sugar added to it.

So, just because summer has come, don't put away your electric cordless kettle. There is plenty of iced tea to be brewed.
